STAR TREK II “PROTOTYPE STARFLEET UNIFORM UNDERSHIRT LOT”

Record summary

A lot of shirts believed to be prototypes for the undershirts of the style worn from “The Wrath of Kahn” through the opening scenes of “Generations”. This lot consists of six, long-sleeved undershirts similar in style to what was called the “Class-A” in Star Trek: The Motion Picture and are in the following division colors; white for command, green for medical, gold for operations, orange for sciences, and red for engineering. The blue shirt is believed to be what became known as the “Special Services” division in the later films. The shirts are made of the same fabric, have some of the same accents lines but have turtleneck-like collars perhaps denoting the evolution from the non-collared Class-A to the ribbed style that became the standard.
