STAR TREK II: FEATURE STYLE “OFFICER’S SHOULDER DIVISION STRIP – MEDICAL”

Record summary

A Starfleet officer’s division strip like those appearing in Star Trek feature films. The item is a medical green colored fabric length with gold trim with a gold and silver colored metal badge sewn to the reinforcement end that indicates the wearer to be the rank of ‘commander’. The fabric on the shoulder blade end indicates having been depressed by a not-accompanying ‘security disk’. The item measures approx. 11.5 inches long. The item is believed to have been worn by either DeForest Kelly in his portrayal of “Dr. McCoy” in any of the Star Trek feature films due mainly to its length. The only other medical division commander ranked character depicted in any of the feature films is believed to be “Dr. Chapel” (Majel Barrett Roddenberry) in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.
