STAR TREK I: TMP – “ILIA” STARFLEET UNIFORM

Record summary

“Lieutenant Ilia” (Persis Khambatta) was a Deltan from Delta IV and navigator onboard the U.S.S. Enterprise during the V'Ger incident in Star Trek I: The Motion Picture. Although she was ‘killed’ by a probe from V’Ger, the almost exact mechanical duplicate of her created by the probe was so real , “Admiral Kirk” (William Shatner) listed her as missing not killed after her involvement with the crisis conclusion. This Starfleet uniform was made for Ilia, however it appears not to have made it into the final cut of the movie. The gray Class-C jacket wrap has a metal Starfleet emblem sewn onto the front and closes with Velcro just left of center. On each shoulder are yellow rank stripes with a single gold bar indicating the rank of lieutenant. Worn underneath is a black dickie with a zip up the back. Gray trousers with built-in shoes complete the uniform. Due to time and storage, there are several tiny holes in the uniform. The sewn in tags in the jacket and trousers read “Paramount – Persis”.
