STAR TREK V: “ALTERED STARFLEET COMMANDO BOOTS”

A pair of Reebok brand name thermal boots featured in Star Trek V: The Final Frontier for wear by “USS Enterprise-A” security personnel wearing commando style uniforms on the hostage rescue mission to Nimbus III. The boots have been altered for screen use in further production, painted metallic silver with plastic zip straps, black thermal interiors, and blacked out brand names molded onto the outer edge of the soles. The boots are size 8.5 by United States measurements, 8 in the United Kingdom and 42 by Europe. The paint outside of the boots is brittle, flaking, and falling away. The structure of the boots is completely sound, dirt and rocks from production use are still present in the tread. Continuity photos from Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country indicate wear by Federation presidential attendants who appear in the trailer for the movie, but not in the actual film. The items are also believed to have appeared in episodes of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
