STAR TREK: DS9 “HOLOSUITE DOOR LOCK PROP” FROM “IT'S ONLY A PAPER MOON”
A prop item featured in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode “It's Only a Paper Moon”; wherein “Nog” (Aron Eisenberg) returns to Deep Space Nine after having lost a leg in the line of duty, can’t seem to make sense of his life and retreats to the holographic environment of “Vic Fontaine” (James Darren). This item is the lock on the holosuite door that “Nog” removes to go inside and immerse himself in “Vic’s”; it is roughly hexagonal shaped, dark gray with reflective appliqués, gold colored accents, molded plastic suggesting circuitry, a central circular piece with molded plastic pieces extending out in an “X” shape, two knobs on the upper left side, and features alternating lights that activate via a button powered by a pair of internally mounted 9volt batteries, one of which is suffering from a disconnected lead. The item measures approx. 6.5 X 6.5 X 2 inches.
